Since this is a very common asked question I'll post a simple tutorial on how you can remove a virus or malware from your computer for free.

First of all get yourself a free Anti-Virus software. The two most popular are AVG free and AVAST, download them from here:
AVG
http://free.avg.com/
Avast
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Say you choose AVG free - download it, install it, and then use it to run a complete scan - once you have it on your computer you should see its icon in the right corner of your desktop, right click on it and select "Launch Control Center" then click the "Test Center" button and choose "Scan Computer". Then all you have to do is wait.

Almost all Anti-Virus give you three options when they find a virus - heal, delete, and move to vault. Always try heal first and if that doesn't work then try move to vault and only if you are 100% that you don't need the file choose delete.

Removing malware:

Some of the good anti-malware programs are:
Spyware Doctor

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
and Windows Defender:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx

Lets say you choose Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, download and install it and are now ready to run a complete scan.
It is always a good idea to run a scan while in SAFE MODE so reboot your computer in safe mode, run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and wait for the complete scan to finish.
Once it is finished then you should see a message: The scan completed successfully. Click “Show Results” to display all objects found.
Click OK then click the "Show Results" button, then examine the threats found and choose Remove Selected.

That's it!
