Another very often asked question is "How do I start Windows in safe mode?"

Here is a simple step by step tutorial on how to start Windows in safe mode

Windows XP:

1. Restart the computer
2. Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu comes up
3. Choose SAFE MODE (use the arrow keys)
4. Press ENTER
5. Your computer will start in safe mode

Note: if you start tapping the F8 key too early you might get an error, reboot and try again, start tapping the key right after your computer is done listing your hard drive and other hardware.

Windows Vista

1. Restart the computer
2. Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu comes up
3. Choose SAFE MODE (use the arrow keys)
4. Press ENTER
5. You will be presented with your normal logon screen, logon the way you normally do and Vista will start in safe mode

Note: if you start tapping the F8 key too early you might get an error, reboot and try again, start tapping the key right after your computer is done listing your hard drive and other hardware.
