hal.dll is missing

Hi WHen I try to start my laptop I get blank screen and a message that tells me that Windows can not start because the below file is missing or corrupt:
system32\hal.dll


Can you please help, I need my laptop reall y bad. Thanks.

The first thing you should try to do is use recovery console to repair Windows, read this article. That should work but in case you need more help here are a few more links:
